Hi!, Everyone---and welcome to my Presenter’s Page!
Please allow me to introduce myself, explain to you who we (Foggy Bottom Farm) are and inform you about what we are doing to make Foggy Bottom Farm real, both online and in its own facility.
I am Dr. Mik Rosenthal (yes, I spell Mike without the ”e”) and I’m the Founder and CEO of Foggy Bottom Farm, the Non-Profit Educational Center for Personal Growth, Fine Arts & Fine Crafts
The idea for “Foggy” came about many years ago when I first started practice as a psychotherapist and realized that a special place needed to be brought into existence. Such a place, I thought, would address three most important areas in peoples’ lives. Self-Help and Personal Development, the enjoyment of beautiful and creative surroundings as represented by developing the skills or awareness of Fine Art and Fine Craft, and, to keep healthy and be able to enjoy life to the fullest, Holistic Living. Our programming will be composed of a wide variety of activities within and among these three major areas.
I feel that these three areas encompass the three most basic things that people need in their lives so that they will feel good physically and emotionally as well as experience being at productive ease both with themselves and others.
Taken a bit further, and put in a slightly different way, I believe that involvement in these three areas gives access to the good feelings that come from enjoying pleasant relationships, being artistically creative or appreciative, and enjoying optimum health. I’m sure you will agree that it is only when people feel good about themselves that they are best able to move on to achieve their greatest potential. Certainly, emotional health and physical wellness, creativity or the appreciation of creativity, as well as good physical health are essential components of a comfortable and worthwhile lifestyle.
We are hard at work to make Foggy Bottom Farm, both in online and in actual Face-to-Face contact to be a major place where these feelings and the attainment of them will most certainly happen.
In addition to our online work, we have been and are also establishing “Foggy” as an actual Face-to-Face contact point in Princeton, NJ, in order to build infrastructure to establishing our retreat center, which, of course, we will continue
As you come to know me, you will soon see that the concept of “we don’t give up and we don’t give in” has been the hallmark of my life. I well understand that anything worthwhile is worth going after—in fact striving for---and in my personal life I have discovered ways to make things come together when it would have been so much easier to simply give up and accept less. Without any doubt, this philosophy has been an underpinning of my professional practice as well, and I have many years of personal experience helping people to achieve success in relationships and other important areas of their lives.
Getting ”Foggy” established and up and running is a perfect example of the “I don’t give up and I don’t give in” spirit. I can honestly say that even though it is taking longer than I ever thought it would, it is happening! And you can be sure that I will make sure that it will continue to happen until it becomes a full time on-line and actual Face-to-Face facility---and as it prospers.
I believe that everything we do in life is done with, for or about another person. We cannot and do not do anything totally by ourselves. The concept of Community is, therefore, the major “backbone” of the reason “Foggy” is being founded with the concept of creating and maintaining an ongoing Community as our major focus and backbone.
Taking this a bit further, on the personal level, to help people establish the Relationships they both want and need, (and to blossom forth to be further useful in other areas) I have written a book entitled Ancient Insights Into Modern Relationships.
The book is currently being published by Indigo Heart Press and will be available online and in bookstores in the very near future. Please look for relationship workshops with this book as a springboard for discussion, possibly in the late summer of 2012.
In the meantime, we are inviting those who are working in any of our three areas of interest, and who would like to become part of our activities online and/or in live face-to-face programming to contact us.
You can help by advising us of anyone you know whom you feel can present a worthwhile workshop or write an article about their work and ideas to be published on this website.
